With lyrics by Tian Han and music by Nie Er, the national anthem of China, "Yiyongjun Jinxingqu," was adopted in 1949, although it was banned during the Cultural Revolution. The national anthem is also known as "Zhongguo Guoge" (Chinese National Song) and was the original theme song of the Chinese movie, Sons and Daughters in a Time of Storm .
