"Bilady, Bilady, Bilady" (My Homeland, My Homeland, My Homeland)

Egypt's national anthem "Bilady, Bilady, Bilady" was adopted in 1979, with lyrics by Younis-al Qadi and music by Sayed Darwish. Darwish is considered the father of modern Egyptian music. After signing the 1979 peace treaty with Israel, Egypt wanted to create an anthem with less of a focus on military than its previous anthem.
