"La Brabanconne" (The Song of Brabant)

With lyrics by Louis-Alexandre Dechet and music by Victor Ceulemans and Francois Van Campenhout, Belgium's national anthem was adopted in 1830. Legend has it, Dechet came up with the lyrics in a Brussels cafe with other young people. The theatre where he was an actor was also the origin point of Belgium's revolution against the Netherlands.
