"“Phleng Chat Thai"”

“"Phleng Chat Thai"” was adopted in 1932 as Thailand'’s national anthem, with music by Phra Jenduriyang. The lyrics, by Luang Saranuprapan, were adopted in 1939. By law, people are required to stand for the national anthem at 8 a.m and 6 p.m every day. The anthem is played in schools, offices, theaters, and on television and radio during this time. Instead of “"Phleng Chat Thai"”, "“Phleng Sansasoen Phra Barami”" (A Salute to the Monarch) serves as the royal anthem and is played in the presence of the royal family and during certain state ceremonies.
