Marlin: A Fish with a Sword
It is dangerous for anyone or anything to be directly in front of a Marlin. Although the Marlin looks very close to a swordfish, they are actually related and not the same animal! Because Marlins can swim over 68 miles per hour, they can use their speed and sword-like snout to pierce and injure fish of all sizes. Marlins are also very strong, which is why Ernest Hemingway wrote about a man struggling to catch one in his famous book The Old Man and the Sea.
